the journey

ABOUT → THE JOURNEY | THE PALETTE | THE PRACTICE | THE WORK | THE WHY

I have been making art since I was four years old. Painting, dance, piano, photography, ceramics, interior decoration. I even designed my own fashion brand, sketching women’s silhouettes long before I knew they would find their way into my paintings. I moved between disciplines the way one changes light rather than direction. Each practice opened a door the previous one had already pointed towards. What looked like zigzagging from the outside felt, from the inside, like a single continuous search.

For over sixteen years, I took the conventional path. A career in luxury – fashion, beauty, e-commerce – a beautiful, demanding world that trained my eye for sophistication, restraint, and the kind of detail that makes something feel inevitable. I loved that world. But creativity, real creativity, kept slipping through its cracks. The imagination I brought to it lived mostly in the margins, in PowerPoint decks nobody expected to be beautiful, in presentations that quietly became my own small acts of art.

All the while, I kept painting. Kept returning.

Three burnouts over the years, each one a rupture. The world becoming too loud, too crowded, too full of noise with nowhere to put it. And each time, art was the only room where the noise stopped. Not escapism. A necessity. The one place where my hands could move and my mind could finally rest.

I returned to art after each burnout the way you return to a language you never stopped dreaming in.

After the third, something shifted. I stopped treating art as a refuge to return to between other lives, and made a commitment: to give this practice a real place. Not to abandon everything at once – I am still building, still working – but to stop keeping my creativity in an imagined life only, and let it exist in real objects, real paint, real hours spent at the canvas. A challenging path. A profoundly grounding one.

This is where Blue Sweet Blue begins.
